Afteem is a family business. It’s the first falafel restaurant in Bethlehem, founded in 1948 by the Salameh family, who came from Yaffa as refugees. The restaurant is named after the son of the founder.
The restaurant is always full of locals and a favourite spot for tourists from over the world. It is a nice little place for a quick lunch or breakfast when touring Bethlehem. Not only does it serve delicious traditional food, but it is also wonderfully located, right next to the Nativity Church. So if you visit the Nativity Church, step inside Afteem. Afteem makes the best falafel and hummus in town. Ask any local.
